ICM PIANO STUDIO

Lesson Information & Policies
General Information

Weekly private lessons are offered at the student’s home in 45-minute or 75-minute sessions, depending on the student’s level.

Lesson Schedule

Lessons follow a structured schedule throughout the year:

Summer Session: April 1 - June 1

Fall Session: August 1 - November 1

Spring Session: December 1 - March 1

*July is flexible: Lessons are not required, but I am available for those who wish to continue. Since many families travel during this time, scheduling is on a week-by-week basis.

Each session includes four lessons per month (see tuition prices below).

Lesson Tuition

45-Minute Lessons → $300/month (includes 4 lessons)

75-Minute Lessons → $450/month (includes 4 lessons)

Additional Details:

Tuition is charged monthly and covers 4 lessons per month.

Payments are due on the 1st of every month via Wave, a secure online payment system.

An invoice will be generated and sent on the 25th of each month to the email on file.

To pay the invoice, click on the “Review & Pay” link within the invoice. If you wish to set up automatic payments, please contact me and I can set this up for you with the card you have on file.

Late payments will incur a late fee of $1 for each day late.

The teacher reserves the right to raise fees at the beginning of the year.

Annual Enrollment Fee - $125 (Due July 1)

This yearly fee ensures a consistent, high-quality experience for all students. It covers:

Reserving your preferred lesson time for the upcoming Fall session.

Participation in two annual recitals

Awards, programs, and other special studio events

Studio materials.

Holidays

ICM Piano Studio generally follows the Saddleback Valley School district calendar for major holidays, and you will not be billed for the following weeks:

Spring Break

4th of July Week

Thanksgiving Week

Christmas Week

New Years Week

*One week in July is allotted for teacher vacation.

Missed Lessons

If you need to miss a lesson, please give me at least 24 hours’ notice

To cancel a lesson, contact me by phone (949) 945-4312.

Exceptions for makeups can be made for student illness or family emergencies. In these situations, same-day cancellation is acceptable if cleared with the instructor before the lesson.

The teacher will do her best to accommodate makeup lessons when possible, specifically during the weeks designated for holidays, as there will be no regular lessons during that time. This ensures that there will be availability to accommodate missed lessons. (See holiday calendar above).

Materials

An assignment notebook to keep track of assignments and goals for each week. (The teacher will provide this at the first lesson).

Method books (The teacher will let the student/parent know which books to buy).

A 3-ring 1 inch binder

A music bag

Instrument

If you have an acoustic piano, it should be tuned twice a year.

If you have an electric piano, it should have 88-weighted keys.

The teacher will provide recommendations and guidance when it comes time to purchase your instrument.

Practice

Students are expected to practice regularly, depending on the student’s level.

The teacher recommends 15-30 minutes of practice per day for best progress.

As you progress in your lessons, practice time will gradually increase.

Studio Recitals & Performance Opportunities

Performing in a formal recital setting provides students with an exciting opportunity to showcase their dedication and progress over the year in front of family and friends.

Students may participate in a variety of events, including Certificate of Merit-hosted recitals, themed festivals, competitions, and conventions.

ICM Piano Studio also hosts two recitals in the year; a Summer recital in June and a Fall recital in October.

These recitals typically take place Saturdays or Sundays.

Waitlist

If lesson slots are currently full, the teacher will continue to accept applications to ensure healthy waitlists.

The teacher will contact the client within 24 hours when a vacancy occurs, in the order in which they were received.

If the client does not contact the teacher to accept the open slot for their student, the teacher will contact the next student on the waitlist.

Discontinuing Lessons

Every student will eventually conclude their lessons. Ideally, this decision is made thoughtfully through open communication among the teacher, parent, and student, ensuring lessons conclude with a positive sense of closure.

To facilitate this process, a 30 day written notification must be delivered to the teacher.

It is the family's responsibility to continue paying tuition during this 30 day period.

The teacher reserves the right to terminate lessons due to unpaid tuition, excessive absences, lack of preparation, or lack of interest.

Communication & Socials

The teacher is best reached via phone or email, and all inquiries will be responded promptly. Open communication is encouraged, and parents or students are welcome to reach out during the week with any questions regarding practice or other matters.
